Schedule: Sunday – Thursday, 2:00–10:00 PM | Minimum 40 hrs/week

Position Summary
The Facilities Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall presentation of our campus. More than cleaning buildings, this role helps create environments where ministry thrives. With a passion for excellence and an eye for detail, this person ensures every classroom, hallway, office, and gathering area consistently reflects our commitment to hospitality and the people we serve.
Key Responsibilities
Cleaning & Facility Presentation
Clean and maintain restrooms, classrooms, offices, and common areas across the facility
Perform daily, weekly, and rotating deep-cleaning tasks per the facility cleaning schedule
Sweep, mop, sanitize, and vacuum floors throughout assigned buildings as scheduled
General Facility Support
Empty trash and recycling, restock restroom and paper supplies, and maintain inventory levels
Keep storage rooms, custodial closets, and supply areas clean, organized, and properly stocked
Communicate any maintenance, safety, or supply needs promptly to the Facilities Manager
Partner with Facilities Managers to coordinate volunteers for Sunday and weekday teams
Campus Security & Closing Procedures
Perform end-of-day facility closing procedures according to established standards
Ensure lights are turned off, doors are locked, and the campus is secure before departure
Verify all guests, volunteers, and staff have exited the building by the designated closing time (10:00 PM)
Other Responsibilities
Follow all laws, regulations, and ethical practices outlined in the staff handbook
Attend meetings as assigned by the Operations Department
Provide miscellaneous event coverage as assigned, with flexibility for comp time or adjusted scheduling
Qualifications

3+ years of custodial or facilities experience
Personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
Passionate about the mission and vision of One Church
Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport quickly
Collaborative team player who is also effective working independently
Physical Requirements
Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals, safety practices, and equipment use
Ability to operate floor buffers, vacuums, carpet cleaners, and other custodial tools
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and stooping
Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
Capable of using ladders and performing repetitive physical tasks
